I’m the richest man in the world.
The statement above is NOT true if you judge me by the amount of money I make, or the size of my house, or the car I drive, or the businesses I own, or the clothes I wear, or the vacations we go on.
But, I am the richest man in the world if you judge me by the happiness I experience on a daily basis, by the smiles I get to enjoy with my family, by the love I share for what I do and who I am, by the feeling of peace and joy that encompasses my being.
Don’t get me wrong, all of those things mentioned in the first paragraph also bring me happiness and I strive (on a daily basis) to improve those aspects of my life.
But, if you took all of that away from me and all I had left was my family and my sense of self, I’d still be the richest man in the world.
It’s moments like these that make my life rich.
It’s moments like these that make all the hard work and discipline worth it.
It’s moments like these that make me truly happy
