I spent so many years trying to change the people around me.
I would share advice (even when it wasn’t requested), I would do my best to lead by example, I would do everything in my power to create positive change in them ~
And so often, it was met with resistance, reluctance, or downright rejection.
My lack of ability (what I saw it as back then) to “get through to people” had me feeling lost and powerless.
So, at a certain point, I stopped trying to change the people around me.
Sure, I still do my absolute best to lead by example, but I also realize that people will only change when they are ready and committed to doing so … on their own terms and timelines.
Fast forward >>
Now, instead of trying to change the people around me, I made a simple, yet very powerful choice, to change the people around me.
I surround myself with people who have achieved things I seek to achieve, who demand more of themselves on a daily basis, who also lead by example, and people who don’t let excuses dictate their lives.
When you stop trying to change the people around you (forcing them to do something they are not ready or capable of doing) and instead just choose to change the people around you (who you allow into your circle), your life will take off in new ways you never thought possible.
I’m living proof of this.
I’ll see you on the battlefield.
