I have a sticker on my dresser that says that, so I see it every day.
It’s a good reminder for me that I’m not trying to be better than anyone else … I just need to be the most elite version of myself.
I’m on my own journey.
To be honest though, this is an internal struggle for me.
I see other people succeeding at levels I’m not at (yet) and sometimes it causes me to doubt myself.
In those moments, I do my best to remind myself that the only thing I can control are my actions in this moment, and I think to myself …
I’m also not striving for perfection.
Perfection is an illusion that will never be achieved.
The sooner you realize this, the happier you will be.
So, what am I striving for?
And how do I ensure I am making progress every day?
It’s easy to get caught up in the negative self-talk.
“Why am I not at their level?”
“Why haven’t I achieved my goal(s) yet?”
“Is this level of discipline really worth it?”
“Is all of this hard work ever really going to pay off?”
In those moments, when you’re feeling most vulnerable, put your head down and repeat after me …
Show up today, do the work, trust the process, serve with love, believe in abundance, be grateful for what you have, and focus on the one thing you can control …
1% improvement … heck, even .01% improvement, every-single-day, will eventually take you to where you want to go.
Stay focused on the one thing you can control –
I’ll see you on the battlefield.
